Since we’ve been talking all about fiction here, I thought I change it up and discuss a nonfiction book I really enjoyed. It’s called Heart of the Sea and it’s the true story Moby Dick was based on. They also made a movie staring Chris Helmsworth based on it. That was quite good as well.
I read Heart of the Sea a little while ago. It talks about more than the ship sinking after the whale rams it. It covers everything the survivors went through trying to get to safety and how it affected their lives afterward. For example one of the survivors always kept food stashed in his house so he’d never be hungry again. The thing I found most surprising was that some of them went whaling again. If I’d been through what they went through, I’d never go out on the water again.
If you’re looking for a change of pace, I think you’ll enjoy Heart of the Sea. If you’ve already read it or seen they movie, let me know what you thought.
Until next time,
