The Day – 11-12-20
Yesterday was a pretty quiet day. I took my truck for a drive around the back roads to charge the battery. On the way I saw three deer and rattled my teeth out on a stretch of washboard road. Our nice Indian Summer is over. I woke up to frost and 24 degrees. Somehow I doubt we’ll get any more nice days this year.
After lunch and an episode of The Repair Shop, I made it to my writing computer around 1:30. It went really well and I managed 6 pages. That’s my best day of the week. Still, this was a not great writing week with only 30 pages done.
In the evening I finished the book I was reading, review to follow.
As for updates, I’ve got nothing. I’m still waiting for everyone to finish their various jobs, including ACX who only has to approve the work others have done.
The Saga of Tanya the Evil Vol 2 Review
The second book in the series was much better than the first. It follows Tanya on her mission to the north where she and her battalion are tasked with destroying some artillery to allow for an invasion. After that, she’s sent back to the Rhine front and finally behind the line to deal with an uprising. The action scenes are well written and the split personality of the main character is less annoying than in book 1.
One thing I noticed was the amount of detail that the anime left out. There are more scenes, both combat and aftermath, by a lot.
Another item of note is the overall length of the books. The first two volumes are both well over 300 pages. That’s quite long for a light novel.
I won’t give too much away, but suffice it to say that if you enjoyed the first book, you’ll really like the second. I give it a recommend.
Finally a preorder update. The Master of Magic is up to 1240 with 21 days to go. Thanks everyone.
Talk to you tomorrow.
