The Day – 8-29-20

Well, I’m happy to report that my internet has been working with no issues for a full day. That is certainly an improvement. The tech showed up first thing yesterday morning and figured out the problem right away. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the parts he needed to fix it. He came back int he afternoon with the correct part and replaced the modem with a better model. So far so good.

With my internet fixed, I had confidence enough to watch a movie after lunch, review to follow. After the movie I made it to my writing desk about 1:30 and managed a solid 6 pages. Not bad considering all the distractions.

The Proposition Review

So the movie I watched was an Australian western staring Guy Pierce. I’m a fan of his work, especially the detective series Jack Irish. This one finds him playing an outlaw who gets caught along with his mentally disabled brother. The officer that catches them makes an offer, kill his older brother and the younger brother will be released. Lots of things happen, none of it good. I won’t spoil it if you want to check the movie out for yourself.

That said, unless you like being depressed, avoid this picture like the plague. As far as I could tell, there was no good buy, just varying sorts of bad guys. I’m afraid I can’t give this one a recommend.
