Irregular at the Magic High School Review

The Day – 8-29-20

Yesterday got off to a terrible start. I woke up with an awful cramp in my right calf. Now I’ve been woken up in a number of unpleasant ways, but a Charlie Horse is right up there with the worst of them. The spotty internet made getting my morning business stuff done a dicy prospect, but I managed it between outages. After a nice lunch, I didn’t bother trying to watch a movie. Having the internet die twenty minutes into it didn’t appeal to me.

I made it to my writing desk early and managed a solid 6 pages. That felt good since I’d been off track for the previous two days.

Last night I finished the 15th book in The Irregular at the Magic High School series. My review of the overall series to follow.

Finally a quick update. Audio production is set to begin next month on The Hidden Tower. I’ve got the first 15 minutes from the narrator and plan to give it a listen today, assuming the internet holds out that long.

Irregular at the Magic High School Series Review

I’m sure I’ve mentioned how this light novel series influenced my Aegis of Merlin Series, but I don’t think I’ve ever done a proper review. Not that I’m going to go into too much detail as that would spoil an excellent series.

So these books follow the Shiba siblings, brother and sister wizards of considerable power. The first book follows the to their first day at Magic High School and introduces some of the characters that will join them on their adventures. It continues on though various adventures generally presented over two book story arcs. The first three arcs are covered in the Anime of the same name. On a side note, if you’re into anime, this is an excellent one.

For a unique take on urban fantasy, this series gets a strong recommend from me.

We’ll end as usual with a preorder update. The Portal Thieves is up to 671. Thanks everyone for your continued support. I really appreciate it.

Talk to you tomorrow.
