The Day – 7-21-20

Well, yesterday wasn’t a terribly productive writing day. And by that I mean I got nothing written. Appointments and errands kept me out until 3:00 and when I got home I was too tired to focus. It was just one of those days that comes up now and then. All you can do is eat it and move on.

So I set out for a doctors appointment in the morning. On the way I picked up my mail, still no paperback proofs. Insert your favorite curse word here. The drive was nice anyway. Not much traffic or construction. The little bit of work I saw them doing was well off the road and no issue. The doctor sucked up an hour of the day. And was it ever a rigmarole. First you had to sign a paper saying you knew it was potentially dangerous going to the doctor’s office during a pandemic. I assume so you can’t sue them if you sick. Then you have to fill out another form saying you don’t have any Covid symptoms. Finally the nurse takes your temperature and if you pass you get to start waiting.

After the doctor I tried a new restaurant. It was pretty good. The fries were awesome and the hamburger okay. I’ve certainly had worse lunches that cost more.

After lunch it was on to the grocery store. They’ve made yet another change. Now you have to come in one door and go out another at the other end of the store. Not a big deal, but annoying since I didn’t realize it, got to the entrance, and had to go all the way back to the exit, swearing under my mask the whole way.

Finally got home and the groceries put away at 3:00 and decided to bag the rest of the day.

And now for your daily preorder update. We hit 754 on The Great Northern War. Thanks everyone for your support.

Talk to you tomorrow.
