Another day of errands. This time it was a trip to the pharmacy to pick up prescriptions. Unfortunately, they weren’t all ready when I arrived, so I had to kill some time.
Not a big deal I thought, a nice lunch from my favorite local diner should do the trick. That was the plan anyway. Then I park only to discover they’re closed. From what I could see they were doing some sprucing up in preparation for reopening after the lockdown ended. Good for them, bad for me.
Luckily there’s another place a street over that I’ve never tried. I still haven’t tried it since they don’t open until 3:00 in the afternoon. And that exhausts my dinning options in this particular town, unless you count gas station prepackaged meals as food. I don’t. In the end I settled for a bottle of water and a granola bar from the pharmacy. Yum.
It was after 1:00 when I got home and I still had flowers to plant. Which I did. They look nice.
To top the day off I got another call from my tenant saying one of the windows I just got installed last year is broken, so now I’ve got to get that fixed. My advice to anyone thinking of becoming a landlord, don’t.
At last I made it to my writing desk and managed 2 pages. Not great but still progress. I don’t if many of you reading this are writers, but I’ll tell you, one of things I’ve discovered over five years of doing this is that consistency is the key. Even if you only get a page or two down, just keeping that momentum is a huge help and even a small page count adds up. Even just finding half an hour a day when you’re busy can be the difference between finishing your work in progress on time or missing the deadline.
Anyway, I should have a few days now with minimal distractions, so hopefully I can get back to regular production.
I end with good news. We’re up to 430 preorders. Thanks so much everyone.
Talk to you tomorrow.
