So I had to do a bunch more errands yesterday, mainly connected to my continuing tax problems. I’m cautiously optimistic that my accountant has things sorted out now. Emphasis on cautiously. This is the third time I thought things were squared away only to run into more trouble down the road. Frankly, I don’t want to be still working on last year’s taxes when I have to start on this year’s
At least the weather was nice. Sunshine and high seventies helps make running around doing errands as pleasant as possible given a pandemic, riots, and road work everywhere. Almost sounds post apocalyptic when you put it all together like that. You can kind of picture someone in Mad Max going out like, yeah, there are lunatic bikers, mutants, and gas thieves everywhere, but at least the sun is out.
Happily my neck of the woods is nothing like Mad Max. We’ve had one protest with about 150 people holding signs on the side of the road six feet apart. Given how little else there is to do, I suppose it keeps them amused. I can’t see it accomplishing anything else.
In addition to tax stuff, I picked up a bunch of flowers for my garden. The selection was way worse than usual this year. I figure the lock down must have screwed up planting season. Still, I got some healthy looking flowers that should be enough to fill out the garden. Maybe I’ll post a picture when I’m done planting.
When I got home, I had a nice lunch and made it to my writing desk by 1:30. I manage 5 pages to get back on track with production. After three days behind schedule that was a relief.
Finally, we’re up to 415 preorders on The Hidden Tower. Thanks very much for all your support.
Talk to you tomorrow.
