So I woke up to yet another below freezing morning. I swear May has been colder than April. But whatever, that’s what the heater’s for, right? Not a lot to report yesterday. Just a typical lockdown day. After lunch of a hamburger pizza, I got to my writing desk and managed another 6 pages on the new novel. It’s still chugging along which is great.
Since my day wasn’t exactly a source of great entertainment, I thought I’d share something else with you. I know I’ve mentioned this before, but one of the stories that inspired my series, The Aegis of Merlin, is a Japanese light novel series called Bladedance of the Elementaler. It follows a young man who is the only boy capable of making contracts with spirits and so do magic. Sounds familiar, right?
The reason I bring it up is I just finished the last novel in the series. It’s a fun read if you can get past the occasionally sketchy translation and occasionally cringy harem elements. Anyway, with everyone locked down, I wanted to share a link to the story page in case you were looking for something to read. There are twenty books in the series and while they’re short, that’s still quite a bit of reading. Here’s the link. https://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index.php?title=Seirei_Tsukai_no_Blade_DanceĀ
Finally a preorder update. We’ve reached 160 on The Hidden Tower. Thanks very much everyone.
Talk to you tomorrow.
