Lost City of Gold Review - James E. Wisher

Lost City of Gold Review

The Day – 8-18-20

Yesterday was errand day, but happily I didn’t have many stops to make. After a quick visit to the post office, I set out for the grocery store. The day was sunny, clear, and not too hot, perfect for a day out. Even better, I didn’t run into a bit of road word the entire way. At the store, I got most of what I wanted. The random out of stock issues continue, but at least it wasn’t for anything vital. After grocery shopping it was lunch at one of my favorite places. The food was really good and I was hungry. The trip home went every bit as well as the trip down and I made it to my writing desk around 3:00. Since I find driving incredibly tiring, I only managed 3 pages. Still, not bad for an errand day.

Alan Quartermain and the Lost City of Gold Review

I watched this old adventure movie a couple days ago. I actually wanted to watch the first movie in the series, King Solomon’s Mines, but couldn’t find it. The sequel was free on Amazon Prime. Anyway, I had actually seen it years ago but only vaguely remembered what happened. I always thought of this series as a sort of low budget Indiana Jones rip off. It had some good stars though, including a young and very pretty Sharon Stone. James Earl Jones plays a native warrior who joins them on their quest to find the lost city of gold and hopefully Quartermain’s brother.

After gathering allies they set out for a pretty standard travel adventure. There are traps, monsters, and angry tribes. I won’t give away too much, but if you like adventure movies and don’t them being a little cheesy, you’ll enjoy this one. I certainly did. This is a recommend from me.

Finally a preorder update. We’re up to 465 on The Portal Thieves. Thanks everyone for you support.

Talk to you tomorrow.
