Fortress Review - James E. Wisher

Fortress Review

The Day – 8-12-20

Pretty quiet yesterday. I spent the morning researching options for merch sales. There are so many it makes my head spin. Frankly, it’s more stress than i need for the amount of money I expect to make. The easiest option seems to be an E-bay store. You can sink that up with your print on demand provider and be good to go. I could also use it to sell physical copies of my books, maybe even signed ones if there was any interest. I really don’t know. I’m about ready to say the hell with it for now.

After my research, I fixed lunch and watched a WW2 movie called Fortress. The review will follow below.

I finally made it to my work desk around 2:00 and managed 5 pages. That finishes part one of the new novel. I expected it to run 25,000 words and it ended up at 33,000. On to the second part today.

Fortress Review

This movie is set in a North African airfield during WW2. It follows the crew of a bomber as they go on missions, lose friends, and generally try to survive the madness of war. It follows the story of a replacement pilot trying to fit in with his crew. He’s kind of a stiff and the crew is a bunch of hard drinking partiers. I won’t spoil the story for you, but being a WW2 film, it doesn’t have a very happy ending. Still, if you like films set in that era, this is a good one. It gets a recommend from me.

Finally a preorder update. We reached 1,287 on The Great Northern War which goes live at midnight tonight. I’m really excited and I hope you are too. Thanks for your support.

Talk to you tomorrow.
