The Day – 9-24-20

Yesterday was errand day. Happily it seemed that most people chose a different one as the grocery store was very quiet. I got most of what I wanted and had a nice lunch at one of my favorite diners. After getting home, putting everything away, and having a rest, I got back to work editing.

The edits themselves are going fine. In fact I’m nearly done. The problem I ran into was with the formatting. I don’t know what happens when you export from Pages to Word, but it seems to screw up the apostrophes so you have to manually change them in Word.

All of them.

By hand.

That is a bitch of a job let me tell you.

On the plus side, after some experimenting, I figured out how to avoid the problem. What I have to do is just copy and paste from Pages to Word without exporting. I’m halfway through the new file and it seems okay. We’ll see what the editor has to say, but hopefully that sorted it out.

Another good thing happened yesterday. My handyman fixed the broken window at the house I’m trying to sell. Having that taken care of is a huge relief I’ll tell you. Now if I can just find someone that wants to buy the place, hopefully before winter.
