The Day – 11-5-20

We had a beautiful, sunny day yesterday and the rest of the week is looking equally nice. I think even the weather is happy to have the election over with. Heaven knows I am. The only thing I’m more sick of than politics is putting a hot compress on my eye. The stye just refuses to go away.

The day was pretty quiet and after the usual morning routine, I made it to my writing desk around 1:30. I managed a solid 4 pages. The final book is over halfway done and I have a pretty good idea how it’s going to end.

Seven books in a row of epic fantasy is wearing on me. Much as I love the story, I need a break. I think when I’m done, I’m going to write a sci-fi novella just as a pallet cleanser before moving on to the next Aegis of Merlin book. Then it will be back to sci-fi for the last book in the Rogue Star series. After that, I have no idea. I have an idea for a science fantasy series that I think might be fun. On the other hand, I’ve got an idea for an epic fantasy series set in my Portal Wars world.

Choices, choices.

Manga Update

After a bit of back and forth with the artist, I made the official offer for the first chapter as well as five character designs. Hopefully everything will go smoothly and she can get started. The only downside is, she lives in Malaysia so we’re about 12 hours difference in time. That makes it hard to get quick replies in either direction. Still, a minor issue given how nice her art samples look.

I can’t wait to see Damien and the gang come to life. I hope you guys are as excited as I am.
