The Day – 10-26-20
So yesterday was a really good day. Not for my writing, that was just okay. The main reason yesterday was a good was that the people that looked at the house I’m trying to sell really liked it. I think I might have a deal, but I don’t want to jinx it. All the negotiating and waiting for replies did nothing to help my concentration for writing. On the plus side, if you’re going to get distracted, that’s a pretty good reason.
After lunch I watched another episode of The Repair Shop. They had three more cool things to fix.
The first was a record player slash radio from just after WW2.
The second item, a huge pottery jug, had gotten its top smashed off. It had these neat designs that showed the ambush of three Roman Legions by Germanic tribes. The jug itself was hideous, but I liked the art and story that went with it.
Finally there was a meerschaum pipe from the 1800s. This was my personal favorite. The pipe had these pretty silver accents and was stained to a sort fo amber color from years of use. Just looking at it you could imagine some rich old man sitting and smoking in his parlor.
I bet it would be fun to write stories based on these old artifacts. If I didn’t have a million other things to do, I might do it just for laughs.
Anyway, The distributor has approved my audio files for The Portal Thieves, so they should be going out everywhere over the next couple weeks. How long it will take Audible to approve them is anyone’s guess.
Despite everything, I managed a fair 4 pages on the new novel.
I’ll end with a preorder update. The Master of Magic is up to 981. Thanks everyone for your support.
Talk to you tomorrow.
