The Day – 10-22-20

Well, after my first full day of hot compresses and eye drops, I can say with confidence that this is going to be a long two weeks. I never appreciated the hour and a half I lost yesterday until it was gone. The worst part is I can’t even see a difference yet. I guess that’s why he said it might take a full month to clear up.

On the plus side, I had another showing at the house I’m trying to sell. Sounded like the people are interested so we’ll see what happens.

After lunch and an eye soak, I found a near new show. It’s British and called The Repair Shop. Basically people bring in their antiques that are in poor shape and these people fix it up. It doesn’t sound exciting and it isn’t, but the items are cool and the stories that go with them interesting. Especially for you enjoy history.

The first episode had a woman with a violin made in the 1880s. One her relatives played it in an orchestra at Auschwitz. Her talent allowed her to survive long enough to be rescued.

Another person brought in an old camera his great grandfather used during WW1.

I really enjoyed it and if you’re into history and seeing old items brought back to life, you might want to check it out. The show’s on Netflix and there’re two seasons.

Finally, I started proofing the audio book for The Portal Thieves. I’m about two and a half hours in and so far it sounds great.
