The Day – 10-21-20
Yesterday I had to pay a visit to the eye doctor. I called in the morning and they got me right in, which was great. Then I sat in the waiting room for an hour, which was less great. I spent about three minutes with the doctor altogether.
Turns out I’ve got a sty on my right inner eyelid. They gave me a prescription for eyedrops and said to use a hot compress four times a day. And get this. To keep the cloth warm the whole time, he said to microwave a small potato and wrap the cloth around it.
That was the craziest thing I’d ever heard, but it works. If anyone needs to use a hot compress, feel free to steal that little hack. No charge. : )
At least after the doctor’s visit I had a nice lunch at my favorite diner. I did feel kind of bad for the carhops since it was raining.
I made it home four hours later and got to my writing desk around 2:00. Don’t ask me how considering how tired I was, but I managed 5 pages. That really saved the week page count wise.
I keep thinking the weeks are going to get less busy, but they keep disappointing me. Oh well, I’m pushing forward and that’s the important thing.
A small update for my audio people, the Portal Thieves audiobook is done and I’m beginning the review process today. I hope to have that finished by Monday.
Finally a preorder update. The Master of Magic is up to 886. Thanks everyone for your support.
Talk to you tomorrow.
