The Day – 8-24-20

Yesterday was a busy day, sort of. The contractor came first thing in the morning to put down the new floor in the laundry room. He managed three quarters of it, but the rest was still damp from the flood so he has to come back to finish it. Not ideal given that most of the furniture from the laundry room is in the hall now, but I can manage for one more day. The worst part of the whole thing is the noise. He has to tap each piece to make it lock into the one beside it and after a few hours, those taps sound like sledgehammer blows.

I didn’t even try to watch tv, so I’ll be reviewing a movie a watched the other evening.

Despite all the distractions, I still managed a solid 6 pages. Given my expectations, that’s fantastic.

Apokolips War Review

So this is an animated movie from DC Comics, basically the finally of the stories they’ve been telling for the past ten or so years. It includes pretty much every hero and villain from the franchise. The story basically has the earth falling to Darkseid and the Justice League defeated. The survivors come up with a desperate plan that involves magic and John Constantine. The animation is fantastic and the action scenes terrific. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.

I will say though, if you haven’t seen the earlier movies in the series, you should watch them first. Things will make a lot more sense. This one is a recommend.
