To start, I just wanted to take a moment and acknowledge the day. 9/11 is aways sad, especially when they read the names of everyone that died. Our local memorial was canceled because of the pandemic, so they’re just have a moment of silence at the moment the first plane hit. I was lucky in that I didn’t know anyone that died that day. It was one of those moments that changed the world in ways big and small. So I hope you’ll join me in taking a moment to remember.
The Day – 9-10-20
Okay, so yesterday was kind of a weird day. I had a dentist appointment in the middle of the afternoon, that meant writing in the morning, which I almost never do. Still, I managed 3 pages which isn’t bad considering.
Now, my dentist is in Lake Placid. If you’re not familiar with it, the town hosted two winter Olympic games and still hosts a number of training complexes. But mainly it’s a playground from rich city people. When the pandemic hit, tons of them fled the city and came north to their summer homes. And I think they’re all still here. Judging by the number of people everywhere, you’d never know there was a pandemic on. Just driving down main street took five minutes and it’s less than a mile.
I finally made it to my appointment and passed with flying colors. So no cavities. Yay!
As long as I was there, I swung by the grocery store and that was busy as well. One of the fun things about going to Lake Placid is the cars. I saw more fancy cars yesterday than the rest of the year combined.
Anyway, let’s end with a preorder update. The Portal Thieves is up to 935. Thanks everyone for your support.
Talk to you tomorrow.
