The Day – 9-22-20
So yesterday while breakfast was cooking I took a look out my kitchen window and what should I see but a doe eating apples on my apple tree. That’s always a nice surprise. She browsed around, going from grass to apples and back for a good ten minutes. Finally my own breakfast was ready and when I got back she’d left. It’s got to be at least six months since a deer came into the yard. Once the cooler weather settles in they’ll show up more often until winter hits full force then they hunker down in the evergreens.
After that nice surprise, I got to work on editing. I spent the morning doing the layout. Basically adding chapter breaks, moving scenes around so they made more sense, that kind of thing. That took until lunch after which I watched an episode of Rust Valley Restorers. That’s another car show where they fix up old cars to sell. I’ve been on a reality show kick lately, not sure why.
Anyway, back in my office around 1:00 I got started on line edits. This is the longest part of the process. I’ll go through the manuscript, search for repeated words and crutch words. I have a list I add to every time my editor sends me a note. With any luck the book will be ready for proper editing by the end of the week. Fingers crossed.
I’m not sure if I mentioned it, but The Hidden Tower is up on a few audiobook sites, but not Audible or Amazon yet. Not sure why they take so long, but they do.
We’ll end with a preorder update. The Portal Thieves is up to 1,174. Thanks so much everyone for your support.
Talk to you tomorrow.
