The Day – 8-10-20
Yesterday was errand day. I got an early start in hopes of avoiding both the heat and the crowds. I was much more successful in the former than the later. My first stop was Sam’s Club and man was it busy. I lucked into a good parking spot at least. They still haven’t got a restock on disinfecting wipes, but everything else I wanted was in. To be honest, I’m starting to wonder if they’re ever going to get more wipes in.
After filling up with their discount gas, I headed for the grocery store. Once again it was quite busy. At least everyone wore their masks. Of course random items were out of stock. In this case the flavor of popsicles I like. Yeah, I know, I’m a little old for popsicles. But I don’t care, they’re great when you come on a hot day.
The drive home was stress free and after putting everything away I took a nice long rest. I made it to my writing desk around 3:00 and managed 3 pages. Not bad for an errand day.
The Issue
So I signed into my Amazon account this morning and found an alert. Finding an alert from Amazon is never a good thing. Happily this was a minor problem. They scanned the manuscript for The Great Northern War and found a typo. No big deal, I just added a space where there shouldn’t have been one. Five minute fix. Ot it would have been if the book wasn’t locked. See Amazon locks the book four days before launch. Why, I don’t know. I made the fix on all the other stores no problem, but the store that told me about it won’t let me make the change they requested. Frustrating doesn’t begin to describe it. I mean, If they’re not going to let me make a change, why even say anything?
But that’s kind of Amazon in a nutshell. Huge opportunity mixed with equally huge frustration. I email support so we’ll see what comes of it.
Anyway, speaking of the Great Northern War, we’re up to 1,231 preorders with 4 days to go. Thanks for all your support.
Talk to you tomorrow.
