The Day – 10-18-20

I had a better day yesterday. I got rested up and all my aches are gone. That’s a very good thing. On the down side, the furnace at the rental is still acting up. The HVAC guy is coming today to take a look. Hopefully it’s just a small thing.

I spent the morning cleaning the after nice lunch of pancakes and ham, I watched Wall St. Money Never Sleeps. The sequel to the original Wall St. It was pretty good. See my full review below.

After the movie I made it to my writing desk about 2:00 and managed 6 pages. Unfortunately, 4 of those pages were written for a class I’m taking on writing Space Opera. Never the less it was great fun to write something outside of epic fantasy, even if it was only a four page opening.

Even though my new epic fantasy series is doing really well, I can’t wait to finish the last book so I can write something different. Up first will be the tenth Aegis of Merlin book followed by the final Rogue Star science fiction book. Once I finish those two, I’ll have to decide what’s next. I’m leaning towards a Science Fantasy series, but I’ve also got an idea for another Epic Fantasy. We’ll see.

Wall St. Money Never Sleeps Review

So this was the sequel to the original Wall Street staring Michael Douglas and Charlie Sheen. The first one was great and the sequel just okay. The new movie stars Michael Douglas again as Gordon Gecko and Shia LaBouf as his sort of protege and potential son-in-law. Michael was looking old in this movie, but he’d still got a ton of charisma. The guy steals every scene he’s in.

Basically the plot revolves around LaBouf’s character trying to get revenge on the man who caused his mentor’s bank to fail and the man to kill himself. The villain is played by Thanos himself, James Brolin.

While helping him, Gordon is also using him to get the money he left for his daughter back so he can return to his trading business.

I won’t spoil the ending for those of you that haven’t seen it. But if you liked the first movie, I think you’ll like this one. It gets a recommend from me.
