The Underworld Series - James E. Wisher

The Underworld Series

The Day – 10-2-20

So yesterday sucked. I don’t know if I ate something that didn’t agree with me or what, but I was sick all morning. In the afternoon I worked on a video and got that done. Despite everything I also managed 2 pages on the new novel. Not great, but under the circumstances I’ll take it. Luckily I didn’t have anything else that needed to be done yesterday. Getting sick when you have appointments is the worst.

Underworld – Vampires vs Werewolves

The Underworld series is the sort of horror I like, more action than terror. And Kate Beckinsale in painted on black leather? Yes, please.

The first movie follows Beckinsale’s Selene as she hunts werewolves as a Death Dealer, the greatest perhaps that has ever been. She eventually falls for one her targets, a half vampire half werewolf. That doesn’t win her any friends in her vampire clan and the pair end up on the run from everybody.

The second movie picks up where the second left off, with more vampire clan intrigue.

The third is primarily a prequel focusing on how the war between vampires and werewolves began. It wasn’t bad, but was probably my least favorite of the bunch.

The fourth movie has a time jump and when Selene wakes up from a sort of hibernation she finds that humans have learned the truth about vampires and werewolves and begun a war to wipe them out. This one was quite good as well, though not as good as the first two.

The final movie, I hate to admit, I haven’t actually seen yet.

My actual favorite thing from the series is an animated film that follows Selene through the ages as she hunts down a trio of werewolf brothers.

If you like action with a supernatural bent, check the Underworld series out, especially the first two movies. You won’t be disappointed.

We end as always with a preorder update. The Portal Thieves is up to 1,319 with 6 days to go. Thanks everyone for your support.

Talk to you tomorrow.
