Happy Fourth of July everyone! I hope you have a safe and fun day with your family and friends.
Yesterday was errand day. And let me tell you, I wasn’t the only person needing supplies. Everywhere I went was busy, except the bank, which was a nice change of pace. Sam’s Club was up first and it was mobbed. I lucked into a parking spot though. Inside, everything I wanted was in stock except Clorox wipes which seem to no longer exist. Every checkout line was open and I still had to wait, which tells you how busy it was.
From there I filled up the car and headed over to my favorite restaurant for lunch. Happily it was open and the food was delicious.
Last I went to the grocery store, again lucked into a parking spot, and headed in. Even more people were in there than in Sam’s. I could hardly get through the entrance. One thing I’ve noticed is that the store seems to randomly run out of things. I mean totally out. Today I couldn’t find a single roll of paper towels. Luckily I didn’t need any, but still, it seems so random. Last week they were out of Mega Stuffed Oreos. Which, if you haven’t tried them, you should. They’re awesome. Whoever they had stocking the eggs had problems, because one shelf had at least four broken eggs covering it. Some of the leakage hit the first carton I grabbed and I had to finish my shopping with egg on my hand. Yuck!
I made it to my writing desk later in the afternoon and only managed 2 pages. All the shopping really wiped me out. That said, I can’t deny it’s nice seeing the stores busy and things getting back to normal. As long as you don’t count the masks.
I’ll end, as always, with a preorder update. We’ve reached 361 on The Great Northern War. Thanks everyone for your continued support. I really appreciate it.
Talk to you tomorrow.
