Another quiet day yesterday, which I’m not going to complain about. It’s been wet and humid, but the worst of the heat has held off, at least for now. I’m sure that’ll change soon enough.
After lunch I made it to my writing desk around 2:00 and managed 6 more pages. That completed the quick telling of part one of the new novel. I think now I’ll jump back and write that section while it’s fresh in my mind. Once it’s done I’ll quick write the second part and continue on the same way for part three. This is totally different for me so it should be interesting. I’m hoping the process will speed up my drafting. I have so many ideas I want to write that anything that I’ll try anything to speeds things up. Only if it doesn’t reduce the quality of the finished product of course.
Last night I finished the novel I’d been reading. It was a Star Wars book titled Heir to the Jedi and it was written in Luke’s first person perspective. That’s really weird. I think it’s the first Star Wars book I’ve read from first person. It was pretty good though. It’s set between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back and sees Luke on a mission. There’s action, a little romance, and mystery. He learns to use the Force a little better and has a brush with the dark side. If you’re into Star Wars I’d say this one is a recommend. I might be mistaken, but I think it’s the last book published before Disney took over the franchise. Which is probably why it doesn’t suck.
Anyway, a quick preorder update for you. We passed 600 to reach 615. Thanks very much for all your support.
Talk to you tomorrow.
