Well, it turns out my hopes for feeling better yesterday were overly optimistic. Whatever stomach bug I caught came roaring back in the afternoon. On the plus side, it held off long enough for me to finish the yard work. While I hate yard work, it does look much better trimmed. I don’t really have much of interest to report. I’ve been feeling so crappy I haven’t done much.
I did finish rereading the Darth Bane trilogy and it was just as good as I remembered. From there, I jumped to the eighth book of the Goblin Slayer series. I’m about halfway done with it now. That’s another one I really enjoy. It’s a Japanese light novel series. I’m sure if you follow anime at all you’ll have heard of the show based on this series. The anime is also excellent. Lot’s of action. So much, in fact, there’s a warning at the beginning saying it contains disturbing images. Personally I don’t think it’s that bad. Certainly anyone that’s ever seen Berserk won’t be horrified.
On the publishing front, I’m still waiting for the paperback edition of The Hidden Tower to go live. I’m also still waiting for audio samples for the narrators I’m looking at. Hurry up and wait seems to be the nature of the business.
Despite my issues, I did have a pretty good writing day yesterday. I managed 5 pages on the new novel. Not too bad.
We end, as always, with preorders. The Great Northern War is up to 215. I’ve also given everyone the option of buying it direct from my Payhip store if they don’t want to wait and four people have taken advantage of the offer. That’s great because I prefer that people buy directly from me whenever possible. So if you bought or preordered, thank you very much.
Talk to you tomorrow.
