Yesterday was a bit of a shit show, but after four hours of extremely nasty helping with plumbing, our sink is now working perfectly. Hopefully that’s one problem taken care of for the duration. The weather for the last few days has been terrible. It was so cold and damp that I had to make a fire in the upstairs fireplace to take the chill off. Not exactly what you expect at the start of June.
After my adventures in drain unclogging it was one in the afternoon and I had no desire to cook, so it was off to the local diner for take out, which was excellent.
By the time I got back home it was after two. I sat down at my writing desk and despite sore shoulders managed 3 pages. Not great, but I was thrilled to get that much done.
I thought today I’d talk about hypocrisy in the news. There seems to be an avalanche of it at the moment. So orders are given to shut everything down, small get togethers, weddings, and funerals are broken up, businesses are threatened with the loss of licenses, and some woman for organizing a protest even gets arrested, all because of the pandemic. You want to argue that what they’re doing is dangerous, fine, you may have a point.
But now, people regathering in massive groups to protest and riot and the media is like well, that’s okay. We’re not going to do say anything bad about them.
Whether you think the lock downs are a good thing or bad is irrelevant. The point is different coverage for the same actions. Lock down protestors who do nothing but stand around holding signs are treated like they’re going to kill everyone by spreading the plague, but the current protestors, plenty of whom are busy smashing and looting, are, for the most part, given a pass.
This sort of reporting is why no one trusts the media.
Okay, rant over. I saw a bunch of stories yesterday that really pissed me off and I needed to vent.
We end on an upbeat note. Preorders are up to 395. Thanks everyone for your continued support.
Talk to you tomorrow.
