May certainly seemed to go by quickly, unlike April which felt like the longest month ever. We ended with a cool, but sunny day of problems. Have you ever noticed that no matter how many things you accomplish, the to do list never gets any shorter? Of course, yard work magically regenerates every week. At least mowing and trimming when it’s 55 degrees is a lot more comfortable than when it’s in the 80s.
After yard work I had a nice lunch of sloppy joe and rice with tortilla chips, one of my favorites. When I finished lunch I had to run a quick errand to get a plastic tub to do dishes in since my kitchen sink decided to stop draining. It’s been a problem for a while, but it’s completely worthless now. One more thing for the to do list, call plumber.
When I finally made it to my writing desk I managed 5 more pages on the new novel.
So upstate NY has moved to the second phase of reopening, which means professional businesses and real estate offices can get back to work with appropriate precautions in place. Retail business can offer curb side pick up, which I guess works OK if they have a good website, but probably sucks for smaller places that rely on foot traffic. The summer tourist season is getting started up here and everyone is both excited for the business and nervous that the city folks will bring nasty germs with them. Hopefully everyone is careful and we have a nice, safe summer season.
Though I’m certainly glad I don’t work in a tourist dependent business.
Finally, we had a nice spike of preorders and are up to 367. Thank everyone for your support.
Talk to you tomorrow.
