The Day – 5-27-20

Well, it hit the nineties again yesterday and the humidity was horrid. Thankfully, we’re going into a cooling spell over the next few days which will be very welcome. Do you remember a few days ago when I said my crab apple tree looked like a pink puff ball? Well, yesterday it looked like Byakuya Kuchiki unleashed his bankai in my front yard, pink petals all over the place. And yes, I know his are supposed to be cherry blossom petals, but these were pink and that’s close enough for me.

Anyway, I had to make a quick grocery run in the morning. I swear I didn’t buy that much but the bill was still nearly $100. Maybe it’s just my imagination, but it feels like things are getting more expensive. Does it seem that way to you? Maybe I’m just cheap.

I went to lunch at a place that’s usually top notch but they weren’t on their game yesterday. I think they cooked the fries in old grease and they weren’t the best.

Made it home early in the afternoon and got to the writing desk around 2:00. Despite being tired I hit my goal of 5 pages.

I wanted to talk about something that doesn’t make much sense to me. As an agnostic I have no dog in this fight, but I can’t help wondering how certain governors can claim that keeping the churches shut down is okay while having stores open if fine. Is sitting in a pew six feet apart really more dangerous than standing in a check out line six feet apart? I really don’t get the reasoning. Since it’s mostly democrat governors doing this do they imagine everyone going to church is a republican so it doesn’t matter?

I guess I just don’t get it. If any of you do, maybe you could explain it to me in the comments. Politely please. We don’t need a holy war in the comment section.

Finally I wanted to say we cracked 300 preorders on The Hidden Tower. That is awesome. Thanks so much everyone.

Talk to you tomorrow.
