The Day – 9-17-20
Well it’s finally done. The first draft for The Heart of Alchemy is in the books. Or the hard drive in this case. There’s still editing and post production which will no doubt take a couple months, but the heavy lifting is finished. I think this might be the hardest book I’ve ever written. The worst part is I don’t know why. The whole process was the same as always. Can’t blame the pandemic since I’ve written four other books since it started.
I guess it’s just one of those things. Hopefully the next book goes more smoothly. Not that I’m holding my breath since I think it will be the final book in the series which means I have a ton of threads to tie up. All part of the fun of being a professional writer.
And it is fun. Don’t let my light-hearted bitching give you the wrong idea. I’ve done a few different things over the years and writing is the only one that I’ve both loved and been good at. I wouldn’t trade jobs with anyone.
A quick reminder that The Chamber of Eternity is available on my Payhip store and for preorder everywhere but Amazon. Don’t know why Amazon is taking so long, but whatever. When they go live, I’ll let you know.
I’ll end with a preorder update. The Portal Thieves is up to 1,083 with 20 days to go. With any luck we can break the preorder number from book 2. Thanks everyone for your support. I really appreciate it.
Talk to you tomorrow.
