RIP Sean Connery - James E. Wisher

RIP Sean Connery

The Day – 11-1-20

A wonderfully quiet day yesterday. In fact, I never left the house. The morning went by quickly as I worked on getting a new ad up on Facebook. Once that was done, I read the paper and fixed lunch.

After lunch it was another episode of The Repair Shop. They had three items as usual.

The first and my favorite, was a cavalry helmet worn by an officer in the royal cavalry. It dated back to the 1860s which was cool. Once they got it all shined up, it look amazing. Though I honestly can’t imagine having to wear it while riding a horse.

The second item was a little wooden jewelry box that was in really bad shape. Somehow the carpentry guy got it all fixed up and looked pretty good.

Finally there was a rabbit in a cabbage. This was the creepiest looking thing I’ve seen in a while. The “cabbage” looked like an alien egg that gives birth to a face hugger. The rabbit itself look possessed by a demon. The woman getting it fixed up planned to give it to a child. That seems like a recipe for a nightmare to me, but to each their own.

After the show I made it to my writing desk around 1:30 and managed a solid 5 pages. The action’s starting to ramp up now.

Farewell, Sean Connery

I meant to write about this the other day and forgot. Sean Connery died at the age of 90. I was a big fan, especially of his James Bond. Goldfinger was my favorite, though they were all good. Another movie of his I really enjoyed was Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. He was perfect as Harrison Ford’s father.

One thing that surprised me was that he hadn’t made a move since I think 2003. That seems like a longer time than I imagined.

Anyway, it’s always sad to see one of favorite actors die. Did you guys have a favorite Sean Connery movie? Let me know in the comments.

We’ll end with a preorder update. The Master of Magic is up to 1071. Thanks everyone for your support.

Talk to you tomorrow.
