The Day – 11-3-20

So yesterday was a nasty day. I woke up to 2.5 inches of snow and 24 degrees. Brr. It didn’t really warm up much either. But that didn’t stop me from voting.

I went down to the polling place around midmorning. Surprisingly not that busy. There were maybe half a dozen people ahead of me, but the line went quick and the whole thing took at most ten minutes. Not going to lie, I was prepared for a half an hour plus wait, so I was very pleased.

After lunch and an episode of The Repair Shop, which I’m not going to detail since I found all three items kind of boring, I made it to my wiring desk around 2:00. I managed a solid 5 pages. This has been a much better writing week so far. Despite the election and starting my new manga project, I’ve felt less distract when it came to writing. No idea why, but I’ll take it.

The New Project

This is something I’m really excited about. I’m a huge comic book fan and I always wanted to turn my books into comics, or in this case manga. I’m starting with the Soul Force Saga since I originally planned for that to be a manga. If it works out and I find a fan base, I’d love to eventually turn all my books into comics. Time will tell on that.

The artist I chose is from Malaysia and she’s worked on fantasy manga before. I sent her the script and character descriptions this morning. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll have some preliminary sketches to look at.

Adding comics to my book portfolio actually makes a lot of since from a business stand point as well. Once the story is written, the amount of time I need to invest personally in the comic’s production is minimal.
