The Day – 8-21-20

So yesterday wasn’t a great day. Those of you who saw my rather uninspired post yesterday will no doubt have guessed that. I had an early morning appointment, which was why I did get to the blog until afternoon. At least everything went smoothly, but it was still nearly four hours altogether since I hit the grocery store on the way back and stopped for lunch. By the time I got got back and put everything away, it was 1:00 and I was beat.

After a rest I headed for my writing desk, but I had barely finished the baby post I put up when an old acquaintance showed up for an hour long visit. That was nice, but sucked up more of my writing time. Anyway, by the time all was said and done, I managed a single, lousy page. Better than nothing, but not by much. I swear, this book is really a struggle.

Extraction review

A few days ago I watched Extraction staring Chris Helmsworth as a mercenary hired to rescue this kid from a drug lord. He’s got some serious mental issues along with a bit of a death wish since he lost his family a few years ago. The action scenes are really good as are the twists and turns of the plot. I have to share my favorite line in the movie with you. After beating down a bunch a child soldiers trying to kill him, he contacts his support team and says he’s just been attacked by the goonies from hell. That struck me as funny.

I won’t spoil any more of the story, but if you like action movies, you’ll like this one. It’s a recommend from me.
