The Day – 9-15-16
So yesterday was really busy. I had a morning appointment to get my car serviced which took an hour and a half. And was that ever a boring hour and an half. All the drinks and snacks were gone. The chairs were all six feet apart. And they had crappy pop music blaring on one side of the dealership and Friends reruns on the other. It felt like my brain was going to melt and run out my ears. Even worse, they were half an hour late taking my car in, which dragged things out even more. I mean, want’s the point of making an appointment if they’re just going to ignore it?
But whatever. They found nothing wrong and my favorite diner was open. After a nice lunch I hit the car wash then went across town for groceries.
All that running took four hours and when I got home and unpacked I was beat. After an hour’s rest I made it to my writing desk about 3:00. I couldn’t concentrate so I finished proofing the audiobook. I think it turned out really good. Hopefully ACX approves it quickly.
Anyway, I didn’t get a single word written. On the plus side, I have nothing scheduled for the rest of the week, so hopefully I can finish book 6.
One thing I noticed from my trip was how many dead animals there were along the road. I don’t know if it’s the season to what, but there seemed to be more than usual. Kinda weird.
Finally a preorder update. The Portal Thieves is up to 1,051. Thanks everyone for your support.
Talk to you tomorrow.
