Weekly Writing Update June 5 – June 11

I thought I’d try something new.

I’m going to start posting my weekly newsletter here. I’d really like to get to the point where this becomes my primary place to share information with your all. Not that the newsletter isn’t great, but I thought posting here would let you read at your leisure, post questions, and generally enjoy more interaction should you wish it.

So here we go.

First I’d like to thank you all for making the launch of The Sanguine Scroll ahuge success. It’s been an amazing run on the Portal Wars Saga and it’s all thanks to you guys.

The nice spring weather has led to an unexpected problem, lawnmowers. You wouldn’t believe how many times I had to delay my recording to avoid the neighbors lawnmowers. But it’s a small price to pay for warm, sunnyweather.

The third novel in the new trilogy is proceeding along nicely. I’m ten thousand words in and have yet to run into any serious problems. It’s nice, but I don’t expect that to last since it never does.

I’m still waiting for my cover art of Rise of The Demon Lords. Hopefully nextweek. Fingers crossed.

Also, I finished another episode of The Lightning. We’ve reached 12 episodes which I’m quite proud of. We also passed 76 subscribers. Most impressive, at least to me, is that episode 1 has over 100 views. You can listen to the newest episode here. The Lightning Audiobook Serial Episode 12

And that’s it.

Until next time, thanks for reading.

  1. I’d be happy to sign up for your blog but I seldom remember to go looking for new blogs…. I have a couple that send me an email to let me know there’s a new blog post…. will you be doing that? I do already receive your newsletter, and have thoroughly enjoyed listening to The Lightning, they are the perfect length, I don’t listen or enjoy audio books, I far prefer to read but your short excerpts have been the exception.

    1. Maria, I mostly use the blog for in-between newsletter stuff like the announcement yesterday that my cover designer started on the new Aegis of Merlin cover. They’ll usually be short update things. I’ll keep sending the newsletter with a blog link and you can just get caught up on Friday. One of the reasons I want to focus on the blog is because of the changes coming to e-mail that make it hard to tell who’s opening and reading my newsletter. I don’t want to send something people don’t want. If someone comes here, I can be sure they’re actually interested. Thanks very much for the feedback on The Lightning. I’m glad to hear you like the length as I’ll be shooting for around fifteen minute episodes when I start my next project later this summer. I hope you’ll join me for that one as well. James
