If you’ve been reading these posts for very long, you know that I seldom share much about myself. I’m not really comfortable with that sort of thing. But today at least, I decided to give it shot.
New Year’s resolutions seldom work out, especially when you’re talking about diet and exercise. But I’d been thinking about making some changes for awhile now and the start of a new year seemed like a good time to really give it my best effort.
I read articles.
Watched YouTube videos.
Turns out, no one agrees on much beyond cutting added sugar and highly processed foods from your diet.
So that’s what I’m doing. All the candy in the house, gone. My soft, delicious, wonderful white bread, gone.
Next I tried adding more salads. Bad idea. For me at least, raw vegetables are a no go.
Fruit on the other hand, seems fine. As does, seafood, grass fed meat, eggs, and a little dairy.
I’m tweaking little by little and adding exercise in the form of twice weekly Pickleball games as well as weightlifting on my in-between days.
It’s still early days, but I feel like this is something I can sustain for the longterm.
For those of you that like orange juice in the morning, I found the simplest and way to make it fresh.
Just add two pealed oranges and a 1/4 cup of water to a blender and run it for a minute. I had it this morning. Best OJ I ever tasted, so much better than premade.
Anyway, that’s my big life improvement project. We’ll see how long I can sustain it.
If any of you made a resolution this year, I’d love to hear about it. Comment and let me know.
Thanks for reading and I’ll see you next time,
