The Great Reading Challenge Day 85 September 23

Morning everyone,

After a lovely if unseasonably warm day yesterday, I woke up to the sky absolutely pissing rain. The clouds were so thick it still felt like the middle of the night after the sun came up. Not how you want to start your day, but we did need the rain. There were spots in the river where you could hop from rock to rock all the way across. Assuming, of course, that you are far more nimble than I am. : )

i actually got quite a bit done yesterday. Not that it was anything fun. No, I worked on cleaning out my garage. It really needed it and there’s still a ton to do, but I got over it in a hurry. On a happier note, I also made homemade chicken rice soup. It was delicious.

Update time.

Reading: Goblin Slayer book 10 – 49 pages and finished. This one actually had some bad reviews and I almost skipped it. I’m glad I didn’t as I really enjoyed the story. I’ll be starting a collection of western short stories by Elmore Leonard tonight. I know it’s not fantasy or science fiction, but if you haven’t read his work, I highly recommend it. Leonard is a brilliant writer whose prose is lean and easy to read. He’s definitely someone I look up to as a writer.

Writing: 8 pages on the new novel.

Talk to you tomorrow,

James
