The Great Reading Challenge Day 55 August 24

Morning everyone,

So let’s talk about Amazon for a moment, or more precisely their questionable packaging decisions. I ordered two complete sets of The Aegis of Merlin in paperback one for a Kickstarter backer and one just in case something got screwed up in the printing. Weill, the printing looked great, but the books came from two separate locations. The bulk of them arrived in a sturdy box carefully packed with lots of extra padding.

Those books all looked perfect and lucky for me there was a whole set in there.

The remaining three books looked like someone stuffed them in a rolled up grocery bag with an Amazon smile on it. Two of them were fine, but one had a crease on the spine. It’s still readable, it just looks like crap.

Color me unimpressed. I don’t think I’ll be ordering any more resale copies from Amazon. They aren’t that much cheaper than the other printers and at least there I know what I order will be shipped carefully.

Other than that bit of disappointment, I had a pretty good day. Some family stopped for a visit, which was nice. I hadn’t seen two of my Aunts in quite a while.

Update time.

Reading: 7 audiobook chapter proofed and I read La Muerta number 5

Writing: 7 more pages on the new novel.

Talk to you tomorrow,

James
