Morning everyone,

Yesterday turned into a shit show. I had a free day, nothing planned all morning, so I thought, hey, I’ll run over to the drug store and get my flu shot. No appointment necessary it said on their website. Great! I printed out the consent form, filled it all out, and hit the road.

Beautiful drive over the mountain. Lots of color in the hills and minimal traffic. So far so good.

I walk up to the drug store door and right there is a little poster with a cute cartoon flu monster on it that says get your flu shot today, no appointment needed. My initial belief having been confirmed I went in and walked back to the pharmacy. Over comes the lady behind the counter.

“Hi,” I say. “I’d like to get my flu shot.”

“Oh,” she says. “You have to make an appointment. Our earliest opening is the 24th.”

Almost two weeks away.

“But your website says no appointment needed.” I pointed out.

Disinterested shrug. “Did you want to make an appointment?”

I swallowed the many curses I wanted to hurl her way. I’m sure she’s in charge of neither the website or the door poster. “No,” I said. “But you should update your website.”

So saying I stalked off to be soothed by lunch at a diner I really enjoy just down the street.

Update time:

Reading: 12 chapters of the Knights and Magic Manga. It’s a really good story and there’s an anime as well.

Writing: 8 pages on the new novel.
