Yesterday was filled with far too much running around. I needed to pick up a few things and the first place I went didn’t have everything even though I called ahead to tell them I was coming to pick them up. I guess the person I spoke to wasn’t actually in charge of inventory and didn’t know they were out. Anyway, I ended up running twelve or so miles to another supplier that had the last thing I needed.
My errands took until lunch and since I didn’t feel like cooking, I microwaved some sloppy joe and rice that I had frozen. It was delicious. After lunch I watched Deadliest Catch. It seems like that show’s been on forever. You’d think that ten plus years of watching people pull steel pots onto a ship would get boring, but somehow they keep it interesting.
I made it to my writing desk around two and got back on track with 5 pages.
I mentioned a few days ago that I was rereading one of my favorite Star Wars’ series. Last night I finished the first book and it was every bit as good as I remembered. When I grabbed the second one in the trilogy I couldn’t help noticing how awful the cover looked. I mean, wow, is it ugly. And this is a book published by Del Rey. Just goes to show you sometimes you really can’t judge a book by its cover. Though I wonder how many sales they lost when people saw that and said nope.
Now for an important announcement. The Hidden Tower is live! We ended up with 624 preorders which was awesome. If you didn’t take part in the preorder, you can find the links to buy it here. www.jamesewisher.com/books/the-hidden-tower
I thought keeping track of the preorders was pretty fun, so I’ll start on book 2, The Great Northern War, tomorrow. Talk to you then.
