Well, my quick trip to return the wrong battery turned into a marathon grocery run. The stores weren’t as busy as last week, but they were still plenty busy. We’re starting to see the effects of the meat shortage up here. All the good cuts of steak were gone and as was the turkey. other than that though, the shelves were pretty well stocked.
I got home pretty late and was very tired so I put off starting the new novel and just did a couple pages on the comic book script.
Preorders on The Hidden Tower topped 130 today so that was great. Thanks everyone for your support.
Now on to something read on Forbes.com. Here’s the link if you want to check it out yourself. https://www.forbes.com/sites/patrickgleason/2020/05/08/andrew-cuomo-confirms-new-york-will-tax-out-of-state-volunteer-health-workers-congress-can-stop-this/#2baf96be5f12
Apparently, back at the height of the outbreak in New York City, a bunch of out of state doctors came in to help treat those that were sick, risking themselves in the process. That’s a nice story right?
Well, apparently they were paid something. I don’t know if they got a full salary or just enough to cover their expenses while in the city. But either way, these fine doctors and nurses that put themselves in harm’s way to help the people of NY are going to get an income tax bill from the state.
That’s right, the heroic doctors you hear about on the news are about to get a giant middle finger from the city and state of NY. I can’t imagine people won’t remember that the next time NY needs some help.
You know the phrase no good dead goes unpunished? So does NY.
Talk to you tomorrow.
