Hello everyone,
Let me tell you tale my friends. The last of the November book boxes went out yesterday. It was supposed to go out Wednesday with the rest, but I ran into some technical issues.
Issue number one. It was an international shipment and I used UPS. It was the first time I had ever done that and the process was different than the post office.
Issue number two. The nearest drop off is an out of the way business on the back road a little ways from my house. And when I say back road I mean back road. First you turn off the main road. Then you turn off another road. Then a third road with no center line. The road is paved, so that’s something. They have a very small sign that I missed the first time forcing me to turn around.
Issue number three. The very nice lady at the reception desk had never processed an international order. So neither of us knew what the hell we were doing. It was very much a blind leading the blind situation.
Final issue: It was snowing. Lucky for me it was warm enough that the snow wasn’t sticking, but it wasn’t exactly a nice drive.
Anyway, after a consultation with professor Google I got everything sorted out and the package on its way. And now both I and the reception lady know how to do an international shipment via UPS.
And knowing is half the battle.
