Hello everyone,
I thought a little story might be fun this week.
So last week we got some snow, not a huge storm, maybe five inches, but it was the wet, heavy snow that’s good for snowmen and little else.
When the storm finally ended in the middle of the afternoon, I fired up the snowblower the same as I always do and got busy cleaning. I managed one swipe down the driveway before the pin that holds the crank that aims the snow chute falls out. With it goes three washers and of course they immediately vanish into the snow.
I can’t use the snowblower if I can’t aim the chute and the snow is too heavy to shovel.
After a great deal swearing I head into the garage. Lucky me I fine three brand new pins.
None of which fit the hole.
More swearing ensues.
Finally I end up pulling the wire catch off of a mouse trap and bending into a reasonable replacement for the pin. Far from ideal, but it gets me through the job.
Two days later, after a warm spell, I find the pin and washers. Thankfully before I run over the pin and end up with a flat tire.
You have no idea how much I’m looking forward to Spring.
A couple of quick reminders.
