A Bad Week For Creators

A Semi-Rant Post

I couple things happened this week that sucked for creators. First and most sadly, the creator of the manga Berserk, died. He was only in his early fifties. Now his story will never be truly finished. I suppose his heirs could hire someone to complete the story like Robert Jordan’s family did with Brandon Sanderson, but that wouldn’t be his real ending. When you bring in another voice, no matter how awesome, it changes the feel of a story.

Now for the rant portion of the post. Google, bless their SJW hearts, has added a new feature to Docs that will suggest more inclusive options while you’re writing. I don’t use Docs personally, but I hope for the sakes of writers that do, that the setting can be switched off. Personally, I write with spell check, grammar check, and suggestions turned off.

I don’t need a software program telling me how to write. Especially fiction. If any of you reading this are writers as well, I highly recommend turning those functions off. When I’m finished, I run a spell check to get the worst of the typos before I start editing.

Anyway, I wanted to get that off my chest. Hope you all have a great weekend. I’ll be busy trying to finish the second book of the Divine Key Trilogy.

Until next time, thanks for reading.
